About this deal

Make a note of your child's weight and height, as this will determine what seat you’ll need to buy. Record the weight in imperial and metric units – people often use pounds and ounces, but car seats are approved for weight groups in kg. Noting down your child's weight in both units will prevent mistakes when converting from one to another. Measure their height in centimetres. It’s not just a case that we want our kids to be safe in the car. Car seats are actually a legal requirement in Morocco with kids once you’re out of the towns. When it comes to travel products, we always look for the most practical and useful items that would suit our travel needs. I have always found finding the right car booster seats the most difficult. During our 9-month world trip, we struggled a lot with car seats and often had to pay quite a lot of money to rent out the car seats. As we were travelling to many different countries it was not really practical to buy the car seats as they tend to be quite bulky and heavy. We tend to travel light so we need something easy to carry and a car seat that we trust will keep our kids safe. Like the mifold comfort, the hiccapop Uberboost ( full review here) wasn’t ideal for our petite kids but could work well for bigger carpool buddies who sometimes ride with us. It’s another inflatable booster seat but gives a little more space for broader kiddos than the Bubblebum. It’s hollow inside so you can probably roll it small than this, and at 1lb 3oz it’s 6oz lighter than the mifold comfort. However, my kid hated the optional shoulder belt clip and won’t use the seat until he’s tall enough to avoid it. hiccapop Uberboost vs mifold: folded size mifold vs Graco RightGuide The Bubblebum’s seating area is just a little bigger than mifold comfort’s seating area. Many parents don’t realize it, but kids aren’t supposed to sit on the silver part of Bubblebum! If your child’s bottom is on it, they need a bigger booster seat. mifold vs Bubblebum: seating area mifold vs hiccapop Uberboost

Hifold is yet to be approved in Australia. Hifold was planned to have certification and labelling per the European, American and Australian standard, all on one seat. However, there have been delays with the Australian certification, and therefore the current model sold in Asia carries certifications from Europe and the US only. Consequentially, the Australian version will be a stand-alone model when released. We are crossing our fingers here that there will be plans to incorporate the Australian version into the EU/US version in the future. Child car seats are bought in two ways: either according to your child's car seat weight group or according to the child's height. So Group 0+ is from 0-13kg and an i-Size baby car seat is from 40-85cm – that's from birth to about 12-15 months old.The price tag can feel hard for families to justify for such a specialized product (though it’s easier to swallow if you can pass it down to a younger sibling in a few years) I also highly recommend it for families with mature 5 or 6 year olds who are on the smaller end of the growth curve. It’ll fit your peanuts really well, even when they don’t meet the minimum requirements for other popular booster seats. Update: We’ve been using it around town for several months now and my son still likes it! Where to get your hifold

Because of the way that the hifold folds down on itself, it does need to be readjusted in the height and width settings each time you use it. Our verdict...Lie-flat or carrycot car seats can be a good solution for newborns, especially premature babies or those with medical conditions, who need to be transported lying flat. On a previous Morocco road trip we had brought our car seats from home as we hired a car at Marrakech airport and had the car for the entire trip. So there was no lugging around from place to place. We just had to get the car seats from home to the UK airport, and then from Marrakech airport to the hire car. This really wasn’t too much of a faff at all. But for longer term travels where we wouldn’t always have our own car, lugging our main car seats around is just not feasible. We tried our 2 Mifold comfort seats on our Road trip to Tenerife. It was so practical to carry these with us as they are light, compact and can fit into your hand luggage. By carrying our own car seats we were able to save money on our car rental but also did not have to carry big bulky car seat boosters with us on the plane. Or kids were happy to use these seats for a week travelling around the Island. Hifold Car Booster Seat Review Things you need to know about the Hifold Booster Seat Features of Hifold Car Booster Seat The Urban Kanga is only 3 kg urbankanga.com/en/car-seats/ and doesn't require isofix, but goes only up to 4 years

If you’re shopping for a 3-5 year old, you’re probably also considering the Ride Safer Travel Vest ( full review here). The Ride Safer has the advantage that the top tether keeps even wiggly/sleepy kids from bending or slouching out of place. The vest is also a fraction of the size. It's been tested twice as two separate models. The crash test of the original model was downgraded because the top tether hook touched the head of the dummy and they felt this was a risk; the actual performance was 1 point better - 2.3 for frontal, which is a very good score in this category. As you can see, the performance is even better in the newer model. 1.9 for a harnessed seat is fantastic. Safety standards: ECE R44.04 in the UK and Europe, NHTSA FMVSS 213 in the US, the CCC in China and the RSSR in Canada (cannot use currently in Australia and Taiwan) Since your child might not be quite in the weight/height region for booster seats just yet, what about a lightweight standard type car seat? Something like Britax Eclipse (which is additionally plane approved) or Joie Steadi (which has a rear facing option). These are cheaper than most of the folding options so it might not matter that you'll only get a couple of years out of it. Or even the cheaper generic/own brand type supermarket seats by Nania etc - these tend to be pretty flimsy, and average to low on the performance end, but they are light, seatbelt fitted, cheap to buy and they score better than the Urban Kanga. Something like Nania Racer SP or Nania I-Max SP Group 1/harness seats (the Nomad, Urban Kanga, Nachfolger) - these use a harness to restrain the child and are suitable up to a maximum of 18kg or 105cm depending again whether the seat is approved to the height or weight based standard. Because of the harness, even height based harness seats have a max weight limit. They say up to age 4, but this is approximate. Some children will fit into them for longer and it's safe to keep using them if they are under the weight and height limit. Your little one sounds on the smaller side for their age, based purely on the height it looks like somewhere between 2nd and 9th centile, so this kind of seat might well last until more like 5 years old. Their weight may change this estimate.i-Size/R129 seats are based on a child's height (instead of weight). The new seats don't replace the weight-based seats at the moment, they just give you an alternative. Costa Rica Who is the hifold fit-and-fold for? The hifold booster car seat gives a perfect fit on our small 5.5 year old!
