The album was recorded during the highly successful same-named concert tour in Europe in spring of 2022 for which Zimmer created new “suites” from some of his most recognizable themes and melodies from the OscarÒ-winning scores for Dune and The Lion King, as well as such contemporary classics as The Dark Knight, X Men: Dark Phoenix, Dunkirk, Gladiator, Inception, Interstellar, The Last Samurai, Man of Steel, James Bond: No Time to Die, Pirates of the Caribbean and Wonder Woman 1984. This is great as a permanent record of live music performances - but weirdly isn't as well-mixed audio as the live performances themselves. In "Live In Prague", Zimmer joined 72 musicians, including long time close collaborators, the likes of Nick Glennie- Smith (Keyboards), solo artists of international reputation, like Tina Guo (cello) or Rusanda Panfili (violin)… and, surprisingly enough (or not, as we are speaking of Zimmer), the electric guitars of Johnny Marr, of The Smiths fame, and the amazing Guthrie Govan, a true virtuoso and one of the most amazing guitar players currently out there, whose guitar created some of the magic deployed along one of my favourite albums of all time (Steven Wilson´s "Hand. Therefore to learn that Hans Zimmer, one of my all-time favourite film music composer was going to release a live album were really good news in my book. It is also great to finally hear some excerpts of "The Last Samurai" live, and it's always a pleasure to relive moments of "Inception" and "Interstellar". Zimmer has completed highly successful Hans Zimmer LIVE tour stops around the globe and most recently concluded the first leg of his European tour in April 2022.Zimmer recorded the album across ten nights during his European tour in 2022 with producer Stephen Lipson.
